This place is DISGUSTING!!!!! Never ever stay here. The photos online are not even real. The photo of the front building is not REAL! I would rather sleep in my car then this "hotel" I can't not say worse. It's is TERRIBLE!!!

My 15-yr-old daughter and I needed a win on a budget, so we looked up the cheapest way to stay four nights in Montreal (hostels could not take youth in dorm rooms). Admittedly a little shell shocked when we arrived and saw the place. So here’s the thing: don’t expect luxury for what you’re paying! We were on the third floor, no elevator, carpets are ancient (as is everything), hot and stuffy corridors, I’m sure nothing is to code. The hotel fits too comfortably between a sex shop on one side and fast cash place on the other. One shared shower doesn’t work, had to use the other. Dated polyester duvet covers. My daughter said it looks like the set of a murder film. HOWEVER… hear me out… it was one of my favourite finds ever. Nice people, safe (one reviewer criticized the desk asking for ID - I’m glad for it!), super urban. Someone playing melancholy saxophone outside our window. In the best part of Montreal (red light district notwithstanding). My daughter came around before I did - I had to do the bed bug check first (incidentally the place was CLEAR). My daughter leaned out the window looking up the street and across the old rooftops and said she felt like an art student in France on a budget. Air conditioner works and drowns out city noise, air was fresh, cool, and lovely and we slept like babies every night. Free breakfast. Also, did I mention it’s located right in the middle of the Montreal Jazz Festival? Come on, find your sense of adventure!

The rooms are cute, good size for 2 people and the location is good to reach many tourist places at walking distance but they do not provide a clean blanket so you better take yours to avoid their. breakfast was okay. you can clearly hear people talking next to your room or outside noises. it's a low-budget stay. do not expect much from this property

Good hotel. Hotel is situated in a central location, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Hotel is good for the money I paid for it. Room was big and included free breakfast, Bathroom facilities are shared. Staff friendly. If you are in Montreal for a couple of nights, this hotel is ideal - not luxury but great for the money

Visited Abri du voyageur Hotel, needed an elevator due to disability. Discovered there are MANY stairs at this hotel when we physically arrived.It is quite old,and close to old Montreal.The street in front of the hotel is closed for pedestrian traffic only which is nice,and festive during sunny ,and warm August days.If one doesn't mind: sharing a bathroom if a room with an ensuite isn't available; old and somewhat tired interior;not having an elevator; no parking on site,some sort of nearby.Then book for the value as your stay includes a continental breakfast* Gave the hotel a 2.5 star since we couldn't stay without an elevator.Otherwise,the staff helped to accommodate,and are 4 stars for doing so.
